By the end of your four-week detox diet you should be:
• feeling a lot lighter - most of you will have lost at least 71b. This is weight that will stay off if you follow the tips on the following pages
• feeling in control - your eating and cravings for particular 'junk' foods should have completely disappeared
• feeling happy - you should be enjoying your meals and snacks and loving their tastes and what the food is doing to your body
• looking great - from top to toe you should have a glow because the cleansing process is probably at least 90 per cent complete. Some people with large amounts of toxins stored in their body fat may take a few more weeks on a healthy wholefood diet to completely detox, but most of the work is done now
'Clean' and 'simple' tastes nice to you now, but to keep your taste buds satisfied long term, it's important to keep a wide variety of foods and simple recipes in your repertoire and not rely on just a few favourites. Your taste buds need sweet (fruit, dried fruit, honey), sour (lemons, limes, grapefruit, vinegar), savoury (vegetables, fish, meat), hot (spices, rocket) and bland (yogurt, fromage frais, avocado) flavours, and a variety of textures and aromas, to be completely satisfied.
